no clean shaven

Despite my meticulous nature on cleanliness and order, there are men who defy my idea of an untidy grooming. Presenting the not-clean-shaven men whom I like:

Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is my original dirty-looking favorite.
I'm a pirate!

Josh would always come out neat and clean with his cute curls but at times when he misses to shave, I still think he's adorable.

The newest craze (as you may know) is The American Idol Rocker David Cook. I think he's sooo cool and definitely handsome.

As for Oscar, I'd still like him whatever way he decides to carry himself.

David Cook fandom

I am a fan. A proud fan. But this one said it best. Couldn't have said it any better. Go girl!

About the voting, ladies...

I will cast as many votes as I can tomorrow night for my American Idol. But mine are not "Victory" votes, they are votes of support. And why am I compelled to do this for the first time in a seven-year run of the show?

Because of one young man who has captured my attention, evoked my compassion and commanded my respect. His name is David Cook.

Early in the season, I was delighted to see that Idol finally had something a little different to offer. A rough-edged, sarcastic, and incredibly talented performer who didn't really "fit" the American Idol paradigm. Perhaps a little big for his britches, but unique and engaging nonetheless.

As the season progressed, we watched David Cook grow in terms of confidence, and in terms of self-restraint. He drank in the judges' critiques and learned at every turn. And with each new week, he gave us something spectacular, and different, and not really aligned with the legacy of the show. It has always been fun to watch.

And as the season moved on, and we saw more and more behind the scenes accounts and personal expose’s, we saw that not only was David Cook a great performer, but also a great person...a great man. He charmed us with his humility and casual sense of humor. He engaged us with his compassion for his family and his fellow contestants. And he sometimes dazzled us with his ability to articulate, his obvious intelligence, his linguistic prowess.
But the place where he has shone most brightly is on the stage, with an unparalleled ability to deliver great performances, one after the other. He doesn't play and sing music. He is the embodiment of it. He envelops each song and makes it a part of him. And then he shares that with the audience openly, artistically, genuinely. He is naked on the stage and gives his heart and his soul to the audience in a way that only a true artist can. It is amazing to hear, to see, and to FEEL David when he performs.

So I will vote. I will vote long and hard. Why? Because I am voting for a man with commitment. I am voting for a man with compassion whom I would be proud to call my friend. But most of all, I am voting to show my support for a performer who has openly and humbly shared his gift. One who has always been grateful for the opportunity to do so to the point of choking back tears with each expression of gratitude. A man who has touched my heart and my soul and will continue to do so for many years to come.

Thanks, David Cook

SEND THE LOVE!

I find it amusing to see this stall in the mall. I know two American Pastors with such names. One is probably going to comment after reading this. Looks classy. he he. Hi there!

Battle of the DAVIDs

We have long predicted that’s it gonna be a namesake face-off. And so a face-off it’s going to be!

I fell in love with Archuleta early on the season but ending up giving my heart to DC. Now, it’s going to be the Davids in the finals!!!

Teeny and I are really going crazy over David Cook. Whoa!!!!!!!!!

Young David is really cute and his voice is clean. I really enjoy the ballads. Somewhere close to my Josh Groban. But MR.COOK – ROCKS!!!

I think DAVID COOK is the epitome of THE IDOL. I’m sold out!

Homecoming

Oscar De la Hoya won a unanimous decision versus Steve Forbes. It's a non-title bout yet the excitement was intensed as the match was held in LA (Oscar's hometown), installing a ring in the middle of the football field. (Take note, the venue capacity is 27,000 seats!) I'm very happy he won, especially in front of his 'people.' He's preparing for a rematch with Mayweather, Jr. in September and another bout against a Miguel Cotto in December.

Congratulations, Oscar!
